Created by Chris Ovdiyenko and funded on Kickstarter, the unbranded Midnight Calaveras deck is a darker version of the Classic Calaveras playing cards.
Printed by USPCC, the cards feature metallic printing against a black background. The embossed tuck case boasts premium foil elements. The intricate artwork is inspired by the famous Day-of-the-Dead Mexican celebration. The court cards display different social classes: the spades represent the military class, the clubs represent the common people, the hearts represent the ‘bandidos’, while the diamonds represent the clergy. Each Ace has its own custom design.
This deck is not only aesthetically appealing and original, but it also handles remarkably well.
